October 24th & 31st, 11:00am – 4:00pm. Wethersfield Trolley Rides

The Town of Wethersfield is proud to announce FREE trolley rides coming to Old Wethersfield!

Come join us in Historic Wethersfield for a trolley ride stopping along Main Street on October 24th and 31st from 11am – 4pm. Enjoy an afternoon on Main Street and the Old Wethersfield Shopkeepers, come see Scarecrows Along Main, stop in a shop or two, grab a cocktail or a bite to eat, see the many historic homes, visit the ancient burying grounds, and have a historically fun time with friends. Parking at 100 Great Meadow Road parking lot or Keeney Center 200 Main Street, then ride a continuous loop or get off at the different stops.

The trolley starts at 100 Great Meadow Road, then heads to the Broad Street Green, after that onward to Main Street where you’ll have three different chances to get off and explore. Then hop back on to head back to 100 River Road.

It’s time for another game of BINGO! Halloween Edition. Join the Wethersfield Chamber of Commerce at the Pitkin Community Center for a night of spooky fun! BYOE – snacks & drinks. Doors open at 5:30 and games begin at 7:00.

Join Wethersfield High School Drama this fall for a night of entertainment and fun with, Performers Performing Performatively: Three One Act Plays on November 13, 14, (7:00 open doors for coffee and snacks, 7:30 curtain) and November 15 (3:00 open doors, 3:30 curtain). Performance takes place in the WHS auditorium, 411 Wolcott Hill Rd.

Chamber Music Concert

September 12th, 6:00pm – 7:00pm Musick’s Recreation: At-Home Musick-Making in Colonial New England

Before recorded sound, music happened at home—played and sung by families, friends, and neighbors gathered in close quarters. This concert brings that tradition to our Waterman Room, overlooking the garden, with a performance by Lyracle, an acclaimed ensemble specializing in historically informed vocal and viol music, featuring mezzo-soprano Ashley Mulcahy and viola da gambist James Perretta.

Together they perform English songs and instrumental works that would have been familiar in colonial and early federal New England parlors, connecting local history to the sound of the era. It’s a rare chance to hear chamber music the way it was designed to be experienced: in a small, resonant room, with the performers close enough to feel the music.
