DESCRIPTION:January 18th\, 3:00pm – 5:00pm. “Parlor Serenade” presented by Modern Vintage Opera and the Wethersfield Historical Society \nModern Vintage Opera presents “Parlor Serenade\,” a winter concert collaboration with the Wethersfield Historical Society set in the lush and moody parlor of the historic Hurlbut-Dunham House in Wethersfield. \nFeaturing acclaimed tenor Daniel Juarez and “captivating” mezzo-soprano Julie Rumbold singing a variety of well-known classics and historical art songs\, this is a rare opportunity to enjoy gala-level voices in an intimate period setting. Alexis Zingale\, nationally-known pianist\, will accompany. \nSeating is limited to 25 for one performance only. Attendees will be treated to a light wine and savories reception after the concert. Time’s Fool Theatre Company’s Wesley Broulik reprises his acclaimed one-man show accompanied by only a solo cello and your imagination. You’ll see Dickens’ beloved characters come to life before your eyes – Jacob Marley\, Bob Cratchit\, Tiny Tim\, and Ebenezer Scrooge – in the intimate setting of the Hurlbut-Dunham House\, decked out for the holidays and ready to celebrate a Victorian Christmas. \nThese performances are given for the benefit of Wethersfield Historical Society. Seating is limited to only 20 audience members for each performance of this one-of-a-kind event. In addition to admittance to the show\, attendees will enjoy seasonal refreshments served at 5:30 pm preceding the performance. Guests will enjoy prosecco or sweet cider along with other holiday favorites. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased on EventBrite.
