DESCRIPTION:October 3rd\, 10:00am – 4:00pm. 44th Annual Old Wethersfield Arts and Crafts Fair \nWethersfield Historical Society’s Old Wethersfield Arts & Crafts Fair returns to picturesque Cove Park for the 44th time on Saturday\, October 3 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Save the date and plan to join us for a day of community\, fun\, and celebration in the heart of the oldest and largest historic district in Connecticut. (Also the state’s most recently designated Cultural District). Browse hand-made items\, shop for unique gifts\, meet the artists\, and watch demonstrations from over 90 juried artisans and vendors.  There will be pottery\, woodwork\, prints\, jewelry\, textiles\, and fabric art\, painting\, photography\, and so much more. There will be food vendors joining the festivities and live music to enjoy.  \nFree parking is available along State Street\, and adjacent to the DMV. While Google gives the address of Cove Park as 533 Main Street\, fair goers would be better served using the Solomon Wells House (220 Hartford Avenue) or the DMV (60 State Street) as a frame of reference.

SUMMARY:Old Wethersfield Lantern Light Tours
DESCRIPTION:October 9th\, October 10\, and October 11th\, The 17th Annual Old Wethersfield Lantern Light Tours \nTours depart from the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center (200 Main Street) every fifteen minutes between 6:30pm and 8:00pm. Tours progress through the historic Hurlbut-Dunham House\, First Church\, and the Ancient Burying Ground. Characters on this year’s tours are drawn from the lives of real people who lived or worked in Wethersfield during the Revolutionary War. \nTickets are $30.00 and on sale September 1. Tickets can be purchased online on EventBrite or to save ticketing fees buy them in person at the Old Academy (150 Main Street) for check or cash only. In the interest of providing the best experience for all attendees\, ticket quantities are limited to 21 per tour\, so get your tickets early. In the event of inclement weather\, provisions have been made to conduct these tours indoors. The American Revolution: Artifacts and Stories from Across Connecticut Exhibit Opens \nWethersfield Historical Society hosts the traveling exhibit The American Revolution: Artifacts and Stories from Across Connecticut in the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center’s Watson Gallery. The exhibit was created by the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History and uses images from their collection to tell stories of Connecticut spies\, patriots\, and traitors. The exhibit will be on view through March 7 of 2027. \nThe museum is open Tuesday thru Saturday\, 10am – 4pm and Sundays\, 1pm – 4pm. Admission is free\, but donations are gratefully accepted.
