SUMMARY:Snow People on Main
DESCRIPTION:February 1st – February 28th\, Snow People on Main \nCome visit Main Street during the month of February to see four foot tall snow people decorated and on display in front of the historic homes and businesses.  \nThis fun program is brought to you by two elementary school students who wrote letters to the Mayor. Now the Town of Wethersfield along with Wingsite Displays who made the snow people templets are ready to bring Brandon and Ryan Hill’s idea to life! This is how it works… \nAs part of the program\, four-foot-tall snow person cutouts will be distributed to schools throughout Wethersfield. Students will decorate the snow people during school art activities\, showcasing their creativity\, school pride\, and unique perspectives. Once completed\, the snow people will be displayed along Main Street\, creating a festive and welcoming winter streetscape for residents and visitors alike. \nThis first year is a trail and the Town hopes to bring these snow people to all of Wethersfield in the future!

DESCRIPTION:January 3rd\, 4th\, 10th\, 11th & February 14th\, 15th\, 12:00pm – 3:00pm. Horse Drawn Carriage Rides \nHorse Drawn Carriage Rides Extended for Three More Weekends in 2026 in Wethersfield! \nThe very popular and festive Horse and Carriage rides will be extended starting the weekend after New Year’s (January 3rd and 4th). The Town of Wethersfield is partnering with Double M Ranch Horse Drawn Carriage Rides to deliver free rides\, The rides will continue through the following weekend (January 10th and 11th) and then conclude with a Valentine’s Day Weekend Special Ride (February 14th and 15th). There are many local businesses to visit for shopping or a bite to eat when you are through with your ride! These rides are free of charge. \nOn Saturdays\, the route being followed will run along Main Street to River Road and back (pick up at First Church). On Sunday\, the route will circle portions of the Broad Street Green. Some rides will be in a smaller\, old fashioned carriage designed for smaller groups and others will be a slightly larger hay ride style wagon. \nIn case of inclement weather (snow\, ice)\, the event could be temporarily cancelled and rescheduled. Keep an eye on the Town of Wethersfield official website\, official Facebook page and official Instagram for announcements. The series opens with historian\, artist\, and storyteller Tammy Denease appearing as Clo Pratt. Pratt was a Black woman living in Wethersfield during the American Revolution. You’ll meet known and unknown heroes who not only fought for freedom from King George\, but also from some of the founding fathers. Admission is $10 at the door for the general public. Current Wethersfield Historical Society members are admitted free. Only cash is accepted.
