From May 1st to May 31st\, on a beautiful spring day come visit the heart of Wethersfield’s historic and cultural district to see decorated bicycles in front of colonial homes\, museums\, and the local shops\, restaurants\, and businesses all on one walkable/bike-able street! \nIn 2026\, Bicycles Along Main will partner with America250 CT\, encouraging participants to design displays inspired by Connecticut’s four America250 themes: \n\nTell Inclusive Stories – sharing histories that may have gone untold\nPower of Place – highlighting what makes our community unique\nDoing History – actively engaging in historical exploration and learning\nFor the Common Good – strengthening civic engagement and democracy\n\nThese themes invite creativity\, storytelling\, and community pride—and we can’t wait to see how they are brought to life. Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony \nCome join Wethersfield in the heart of the historic district to honor and remember those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom\, America250 style! More info to come… \nMemorial Day Parade in Old Wethersfield and Memorial Day Ceremony immediately following in the Village Cemetery. \nThe parade will step off at 9:00 a.m. and will head west on State Street to Nott Street then to Garden Street. It will then proceed down Garden Street\, cross over Church Street and turn left onto Main Street. The Reviewing Stand will be at the intersection of Main Street and Church Street. The parade will end at Hartford Avenue. The Memorial Day Parade Ceremony will take place at the intersection of Main Street and Marsh Street on the grass in front of First Church of Christ. \nOrganizations interested in marching in the parade may make a request to do so by going to the parade’s website at https://www.wethersfieldct.gov/286/Memorial-Day-Parade click on “Marchers Application Form” on the main page.

Wethersfield 250 Jubilee: Revolutionary War Encampment & Traditional Trades Fair \nWith the 5th Connecticut Regiment & Traditional Trades Artisans  \nWebb Deane Stevens beloved Revolutionary War Encampment joins forces with the Traditional Trades Fair for a free\, family-friendly day marking America’s 250th on the museum grounds. \n﻿Watch the 5th Connecticut Regiment drill and skirmish\, chat with a camp surgeon about his gruesome profession\, and see skilled artisans demonstrate the timber framing\, weaving\, and carpentry that built the nation and keep our oldest buildings standing. Hands-on workshops\, Colonial games\, delicious food\, and a vendor market with local crafts\, demonstrations and gifts all day. \nThe free festivities will begin on the Museum grounds immediately following the Town of Wethersfield Memorial Day Parade. \n10:00am – 4:00pm.
