SUMMARY:Forgotten Patriots Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:🇺🇸January though March 15th\, Forgotten Patriots🇺🇸 \nThe Wethersfield Historical Society’s Forgotten Patriots is currently on view in the Watson Gallery of the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center through Sunday\, March 15\, 2026.  \nWhile women\, Blacks\, and Native Peoples played a vital role in securing American independence from England\, their contributions to this struggle have been too long forgotten. In honor of the 250th anniversary of American independence\, Wethersfield Historical Society explores the stories of Abner Andrews\, Caesar Freeman\, Elizabeth Deane\, and other forgotten patriots in this exhibit.\nAdmission to the Wethersfield Museum is free\, but donations are gratefully accepted. \nKeeney Culture Memorial Center Hours: \nJanuary & February: Closed Mondays\, Tuesdays\, and Wednesdays. Open Thursday through Sunday during regular hours (Thursday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM\, Sunday: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM). \nMarch will add Wednesdays back into the schedule.  \nAfter its run in the Watson Gallery\, this exhibit is available for display in other venues. SUMMARY:Horse Drawn Carriage Rides
DESCRIPTION:Horse Drawn Carriage Rides Extended for Three More Weekends in 2026 in Wethersfield! \nThe very popular and festive Horse and Carriage rides will be extended starting the weekend after New Year’s (January 3rd and 4th). The Town of Wethersfield is partnering with Double M Ranch Horse Drawn Carriage Rides to deliver free rides\, The rides will continue through the following weekend (January 10th and 11th) and then conclude with a Valentine’s Day Weekend Special Ride (February 14th and 15th). There are many local businesses to visit for shopping or a bite to eat when you are through with your ride! These rides are free of charge. \nOn Saturdays\, the route being followed will run along Main Street to River Road and back (pick up at First Church). On Sunday\, the route will circle portions of the Broad Street Green. Some rides will be in a smaller\, old fashioned carriage designed for smaller groups and others will be a slightly larger hay ride style wagon. \nIn case of inclement weather (snow\, ice)\, the event could be temporarily cancelled and rescheduled. Keep an eye on the Town of Wethersfield official website\, official Facebook page and official Instagram for announcements.
