Wethersfield Celebrates" theme of District-wide Art Show at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center

2nd & 9th, 9:30-11:00am
Griswoldville Walking Tours hosted by the Griswoldville Preservation Trust.
Walking tour of 3 former mill sites along Two Stone Brook.
Meet at intersection of Griswold Rd. and Country Club Rd.

9th
Art Walk on Main 11am-4pm hosted by the Wethersfield Art League and Old Wethersfield Shopkeepers Association. Sidewalk Art Show -Artists will display works in shop interiors with a map and guide for the rest of the month.

Men's Garden Club,
Heirloom Plant Sale 8am-1pm
Held at the Corpus Christi Church Parking Lot (Silas Deane Highway)

23rd-24th
Webb Deane Stevens Museum House Tours 10am-4pm Saturday & 1pm-4pm Sunday, $6 pp
Silas Deane and Webb Houses, focusing on Wethersfield’s role in the American Revolution.
11am-4pm: 5th Connecticut Regiment of Revolutionary re-enactors will be encamped on the lawn Saturday and Sunday night.
Open to the public following the Memorial Day Parade.
5:00pm: Unveiling of new interpretive plaque about Washington and Rochambeau’s meeting at the Webb House in 1781.
5:30pm: Reception at Deane House $15pp/$25couple

Memorial Day Parade. Begins at 9:00Am at the Dept of Motor Vehicles on State Street. Parade will follow along Garden Street, Church Street, Main Street, and Broad Street. A Formal Ceremony ends the parade at the Ancient Burial Ground.

Home Garden Club, Garden Tour - 10am-4pm
“Everyday Gardens for the Everyday Gardener” Celebrate the club’s 60th anniversary with a tour of 7 home
gardens in Wethersfield and Rocky Hill. $10 in advance, $15 day of tour. Tickets will be sold at the Keeney Memorial Center at 200 Main Street in Old Wethersfield on the day of the tour from 9:45am to 2:00pm. Or purchase tickets in advance by sending a check payable to Wethersfield Home Garden Club to 58 Grandview Terrace, Wethersfield, CT 06109. Please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Griswoldville Preservation Association & Great Meadows Conservation:
Connecticut Trail Day Walking Tour - 8:30am-12pm

2.5 mile hike of Two Stone and Goff Brooks. Habitats and wildlife in Mill Woods Park will be viewed/discussed as well as visits to the sites of 4 former water powered mills that operated from the mid-17th to
the early 20th century. Meet at Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center, 156 Prospect St through Old Wethersfield, gather your neighbors and friends to celebrate Wethersfield’s 375th Birthday in grand style with a good old fashioned parade. Multiple bands, floats, trucks, and marching units promise to make this a spectacular day!

First Church of Christ, Carillon Concert of Patriotic Music - 7pm
Enjoy this free Carillon concert of patriotic music played by David Spicer, emanating from the spire of the church,
while sitting on the church lawns (bring your own chair). Printed programs will be available and David will also

100 Year Rededication of the Foote Monument 12-4pm

Broad Street Green, Old Wethersfield
Descendants of Nathaniel Foote will gather to rededicate the Foote Monument located on the Broad Street Green.
There will be several speakers and music by the Col. John Chester Fife & Drum Corp.

Fireworks and Strictly Swing Band Concert. 6:30pm - 10:00pm
Bring your own Blanket and Chairs and enjoy a late summer picnic while listening to the music of the swing era with the group "Strictly Swing" at Cove Park. Following the cocnert, turn your chairs toward the water for a dazzling fireworks display celebrating Wethersfield's 375th year in style. This even is Free. Rain Date is August 29th.

Wethersfield Chamber of Commerce, ANNUAL CORN FESTIVAL, 10am - 5pm
As in years past, this is an eagerly awaited, fun-filled, spectacular, annual, community-wide event for
businesses, crafters, and the public held rain or shine, on Saturday, September 12th,2009 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
on Wethersfield's famous, picturesque Broad Street Green in the historic village of Old Wethersfield.

new in the old world of scarecrows. Humble materials transformed into creatures with charm and personality
bring some Fall Fun all along Main Street!

new in the old world of scarecrows. Humble materials transformed into creatures with charm and personality
bring some Fall Fun all along Main Street!

3rd
Historical Society Craft Fair - 10am-4pm
Held at Cove Park on State Street, Rain or Shine. More
than 80 juried crafters and vendors will be showing and
selling their wares. Admission: $6 per person, $5 with coupon; children under 12 are free.

16th -18th
Cove Side Carnival - Richard M. Keane Foundation
Friday evening; Saturday afternoon and evening; and Sunday afternoon
Gillette Shows will offer 15-20 Carnival rides for all ages in Cove Park on State Street in Old Wethersfield. The
picturesque setting will include rides such as a Ferris Wheel, carousel, super slide as well as many others. This
fundraiser will include a concession area where food, snacks, soft drinks beer and wine will be sold.

Webb-Deane-Stevens Holiday House Tours

The three holiday- decorated homes of the Webb-Deane-Stevens museum will open their doors to visitors 10am to
4pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; and Sundays from 1 to 4pm.
Cost for guided tours is $10 per person, $8 per person for members or groups, $5 for children, and $25 per family
(two adults and children).
Preview Party December 11, 5-8pm.
Visitors to the preview party will get a candlelight tour of all three homes decked out in holiday décor. The candle-
light preview party includes tours, elegant decorations, musical entertainment, wine and hors d'oeuvres.
Cost for the holiday preview party is $15 per person. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged.
